Hi! I’m Liz.

I’m number eight of thirteen children, born and raised in St.Paul by my two parents, who are still married and living in the house we grew up in. At a very early age, I watched my mom cook everything from full meals to special treats, cookies, bars for any and everyone that stopped by. No matter what, you could count on a delicious homemade treat in her kitchen. I saw how her homemade goods brought everyone together and I knew that I wanted to do the very same thing.

Years later, after over nine years in the nursing industry and being pregnant with my first born, I decided to start a peanut brittle company “Don’t Be Bitter Brittle” where I created over fifteen flavors and still sell seasonally.

When Covid hit, like many parents, I found myself suddenly at home with two kids and in a teachers role, trying to come up with a solution that would allow me to continue helping them while also supporting us and my dream. I knew I wanted to feed people and after some research and brainstorming, Platter to Plate was born.

SMALL BUSINESS. BIG FAMILY.

Platter to Plate has given me my life back! Although it started as a “charcuterie” business, it has really evolved into so much more. It is definitely charcuterie, but, charcuterie on steroids. At Platter to Plate, you will not see the same platter twice and I pride myself in being ‘extra’ by making each custom to each client, making them feel like it came directly from the loved ones who ordered it.

Besides platters, I also make custom meals! I love cooking soul food, comfort food, anything that brings back memories of your childhood or just special occasions. Cooking is what I absolutely love doing. Feeding people is my favorite thing in the whole world. With Platter to Plate, I not only get to do what I love, but I get to do it with people I love.

All of my family members have some sort of special role or hand in my business and I can’t think of a better support system/group I’d rather spend my days with. I have been overwhelmed and so grateful for everyone I have met so far in my journey. From clients to other hard working, small business entrepreneurs offering their experience, stories, and even mistakes, I cannot think of anywhere I’d rather be in life right now.
